Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant II
Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant II – is a NPP under construction with VVER-1200 reactors (Water-Water Energetic Reactor). The plant is being constructed in the town of Sosnovy Bor in Russia's Leningrad Oblast, on the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland, some 70 kilometres (43 mi) to the west of the city centre of Saint Petersburg. The NPP is being constructed according to the AES – 2006 project. The commissioning of the first and second power units is planned for 2018 and 2019 respectively.
Leningrad II project will consist of four power units with nominal power 1198.8 MW each.
The design service life of Leningrad II NPP is 50 years; the design service life of the main equipment is 60 years.
Leningrad II project is based on the nuclear and radiation safety criteria of Russian and international standards (IAEA).
The NPP reactor is securely protected from the outside impacts.
High safety standards are one of reasons why Ancon couplers are used for Leningrad II NPP project.
Ancon CXL couplers with parallel thread are used for joining rebar of the containment

The inside containment of the reactor is a cylinder-shape building of pre-stressed reinforced concrete with a hemispherical dome and a reinforced concrete slab.
The outside (missile) shield is built of cast reinforced concrete without prestressing.
